This show celebrates the coming-together of voices, with poetry from esteemed Ronnie McGrath and Patricia Camp, paintings by Rizpah Amadasun, Mali McGrath and Junk Baby (Ismiah Martin and Rochelle Johns), and make-up artistry from Halima Malek (photographed by Tammy Lynn); all launched with a powerful poetry event at Studio 18 on 18th September.
These artists convey their experiences of racial injustice with striking imagery and poetry; expressing self, Black identity, reactions to wearing a hijab when face covering has become the norm, and powerful expressions of their realities.
